My Life Since Senn ...:
I married in 1963. My husband and I raised 3 children. They all live near me. I have 6 grandchildren, two of whom are in the armed services. After 40 years of marriage, my husband passed away in 2002. In 2005, I met Hank. He is the second love of my life. We do a lot of traveling, especially cruising. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. |

Comment:
My Life Since Senn would not be complete without mentioning that I am a sister to two great siblings, Joel and Gayle; and that my one and only nephew, Eric, has consistently amazed me throughout his 27 years of life: Graduating from Bradley University in the upper 10% of his class, with a B.S. in Finance and Economics; moving on his own to Denver, CO from Rockford, IL to work for a large, insurance corporation, and planning to work on his MBA. Near and far, I am a godmother, great godmother, good friend and neighbor to my extended families. Nephew Eric Baers married May 27, 2017. He and his bride, Liliya, live and work in Denver, CO. Hobbies: traveling, i.e. South America, Mexico, and Canada; creating family memory books, and cooking. |

My Life Since Senn ...:
Graduated from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) with a B.A. in English. Worked as a reporter for two Southern California newspapers, as a feature writer. The Federal Government has been my employer for the past 15 years. While at the Internal Revenue Service, I utilized both my high school and adult evening school Spanish to assist Spanish-Americans with their income tax and other citizenship documents. Currently, I work with three program managers and their staffs(Adjudications, Records, and Production) within the Department of Homeland Security. 2020 - Baby sister, Gayle, turns 70-years young in March and waiting to hear "Nana" from her first, bright and beautiful, eight-month old granddaughter Eva Marie Baers, daughter of nephew Eric and wife Liliya, who live and professionally work in Denver, CO. To all alumni attending Senn's Class of 1960 Reunion...have a glorious time. You're in my thoughts and prayers. |

Your Favorite Piece Of Wisdom:
I believe that hard work, a good education, starting with Senn High School, and being due diligent in ones pursuits describes some of my beliefs and certainly has made a difference in my life. One of my favorite quotations is by the former Govenor of Michigan George Romney, "The pursuit of the difficult makes men strong." |

My Life Since Senn ...:
Upon graduation from Senn HS, I attended the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana. There I received a degree in civil engineering. Shortly after graduating I entered the construction industry. As my career developed I became responsible for managing more complex projects. In the 90's I was in charge of the renovation of Soldier Field which was getting ready to host the World Cup. I was also responsible for the renovation of two vaudevillian theaters on Randolph Street in Chicago. The first project completed was the Oriental Theater, followed by the Palace. Two very rewarding projects. Additionally, in the 70's I began investing in apartment buildings in the Rogers Park area. With the help of my wife, Carol, it matured into a prosperous full time endeavor. My first marriage ended in divorce with one child. I remarried and together we have three wonderful children. We are very of proud of all three. They all graduated from college, the oldest from West Point, the middle from the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana, and the youngest from Illinois State. We have nine grandchildren ranging in ages from 15 to 1, and they bring us a lot of happiness. My hobbies include reading, nature, fishing, and traveling. I have become in recent years interested in the civil war, I guess you would call a civil war buff. My wife and I have traveled to a number of battlefields, the last being Bentonville in North Carolina. We spend a lot of time in Arizona where we have a second home. We have traveled to Egypt, Eastern Central Europe, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Italy and others, and most of the US and Canada. We hope to continue doing so. |

My Life Since Senn ...:
For all of my life's challenges, I can truly say I never gave up, gave in or gave out. I am here and everything is just fine. I have done so much. I had three positions working for someone else. 1st the B&O Railroad as a switchman, 2nd Commuter Airlines as a pilot, and 3rd Chicago Union Carpenter as a commercial carpenter. I also spent 5 years in the National Guard from 1963 to 1967. My wife and I married 43 years ago in Detroit, Michigan. Our best man was Peter Nielsen. He still is our best man. My darling wife Kathleen finished college with a masters in Special education and completed her teaching career at the Sanibel Elementary school here in Sanibel Island, Florida where we live. She is a two time survivor of cancer and has come a long way and is still going strong. We renewed our vows on our 40th wedding anniversary in Athlon, Ireland, near the Shannon River at the Immaculate Conception Church. We spent most our our lives in the Chicagoland area and Stanton, Michigan where we had Christmas Tree Farms. We grew, wholesaled, and retailed our trees. We relocated from Park Ridge, Illinois to Sanibel in 2001 when our home was completed. We spend our time fishing, golfing, traveling and visiting our place in Michigan. Our travels have taken us from Zermatt, Switzerland to Costa Rica. To all of my fellow 1960 graduates I say thanks for all the memories. You are the best and most successful men and women. From my heart I say thank you. |

Your Favorite Piece Of Wisdom: Guilt is a useless emotion | |
My Life Since Senn ...: I left Chicago when I was 23 years old and moved to Cleveland Ohio for 3 years. Then on to Cincinnati Ohio where my ex husband was with U.S. Shoe Corp. I decided to go into Real Estate almost 33 years ago. The best decision I ever made. I am blessed with 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Unfortunately 2 of my children live West. One in Lake Tahoe the other in Seattle. I met the love of my life 17 years ago and we love to travel as well as play golf... in between our work schedules. I have stayed in contact with quite a few of my high school girlfriends all these years. Actually, 9 of us went on a cruise over a year ago to celebrate our friendships. |

My Life Since Senn ...:
After Senn, I went to the University of Illinois for 2-1/2 years and then on to Cook County Medical School of Technology. I became a medical technician and blood chemist. Married Sherwin Jarol in 1964, had two children, divorced after 10-1/2 years. Remarried in 1979 and had one more child. Started my business around 1984 and am still working it! I have two daughters and one son. I have a dog, named Dakota, who is an Akita and weighs 120 pounds. I walk him three times a day for at least two miles a walk. I love to go dancing and to the theatre, go out with friends. Traveling is also one of my favorite things to do and to spend time with my two granddaughters (age 7) and my grandson (age 8). |

My Life Since Senn ...:
Spent the last 15 years in the Life and Health Insurance industry, preceded by 26 years in fashion merchandising. The highlights of my life are my two daughters, three grandchildren, my wife Carol, second time around, and retaining my many close friendships that started at Senn and before. Yes, people still call me Biff. |
