Some of the happiest times of my life were spent at Senn. Most memorable day was when Bobby Wolf asked me to play Daisy Mae in his production of "Dogpatch USA". God rest his soul. Most fun times were spent with best friend Karlynne Klein and being awed by her twirling abilities, and dancing in Senn Hall at noon and eating frys at Harry's. Less fun times were taking algebra tests and being asked to drop chemistry. I'm proud to be associated with such successful Sennites. Thank you Jackie and all your committee for doing such a great job...so sorry I can't be there, will miss seeing old friends and eating a REAL Chicago pizza and hot dog. Glad we got together a few years ago. P.S. I'm not dying until the Cubs win the series. |

My Life Since Senn ...:
After Senn went to Wright JC for two years. Left for Hawaii to train for Peace Corps. Was to go to Philippines, didn't make it, couldn't learn Tagalog. Left for San Francisco just for fun. Met husband, had two beautiful daughters. Was married for 8 years and divorced (we're still good friends). Became bank teller, RV salesperson, child councelor at Shelter, and Banquet Manager. In our yearbook, after ambition, I said to "decide on a career". I've retired from trying to decide on a career. 12 years ago my best friend passed away from cancer, 9 years ago I married her husband. We play golf every day and enjoy the beautiful Rancho Mirage sun. Enjoy bridge once a week. We have a dog and cat and they own us. Don was a banker for 35 years...he's a good guy regardless. Both daughters are happily married in Northern Calif. and own their own businesses. Oldest granddaughter is 16 (are you kidding me?) two others 13 & 12. Youngest are 7 year old twins. Good grief, where did the time go? |

My Life Since Senn ...:
I graduated from Washington University, and stayed there to do graduate work in early modern European legal history. When I was at the point of doing my dissertation, I finally realized that what I loved was the give-and-take of graduate school, and not solitary research. I taught grade school and high school sporadically, while trying to figure out what I really wanted to do when I grew up. During this time, I got married, and then divorced. So...having already gone west to St. Louis, I next tried going east... to Boston, where my sister Lois had moved. Maybe it was feeling uprooted that made me search for some continuity, and I found it in my attraction to the study of law. I entered Boston University Law School, and felt that I had come home - it seemed not like being in college again, but actually like being in high school! We had assigned lockers and locker-mates, and at the end of every hour a bell rang and the whole section walked together to our next class. Meanwhile, Lois and her husband Neil had moved to New York for professional reasons. My nephew Alex was born two weeks before I started law school, so I now always have a reminder of how long I’ve been a lawyer. Given the appearance of this wonderful new addition to the family, I suspected that a move to another city was once more in my future. Indeed, I moved to New York for my first job out of law school, and have lived here ever since. I worked for the Criminal Appeals Bureau of the Legal Aid Society for several years, and then became a court attorney with the New York State court system, where I’ve been for over twenty years. In addition to helping judges set up jury instructions for trials and "ghostwriting" decisions, one of the most rewarding opportunities I've had over the past decade is working directly with people drawn into the civil and housing court systems without having a lawyer, helping people decipher the code of what's going on around them. One day in court, while waiting for a criminal defendant to be brought in, I began talking to Fred, a probation officer. Fred and I have since been talking and "going together" for about twenty years. I've also become very involved with my synagogue. I've served on the Board of Trustees (only occasionally making legal quibbles), chaired the Adult Education Committee, and developed and taught a Hebrew course for adults. Fred and I are devoted to thoroughbred horse racing - going to the races, not riding horses. I've finally found a practical application for all that probability theory we did in algebra - I'm a pretty good handicapper. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone again. |

Attended U of I where I got a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mathematics. I married Madeline Zoberman (from South Shore) in 1965; she has two degrees in education from the U of I. Madeline passed away in January of 2020 after fighting cancer every day for nearly 4 years. I have been living in suburban Washington, DC (now in Bethesda MD) since 1970. I spent 1.5 years as Asst. Prof, 5 at a Navy lab, 10 working in various companies, 10 in business for myself, and the 23 years working for a not-for-profit company providing consulting advice on satellite programs. I retired in 2018 to spend time with Madeline and be her caregiver for over 1.5 years until she passed. I have been very active in our synagogue Men's Club for over 40 years and have been on the synogogue board for 3 terms. Received the FJMC Seaboard Region Blue Yarmulke Man of the Year award in Jan 2012. I play golf and try to exercise regularly. We have three children, all married; two live within 30 minutes from us; the 3rd lives in Seattle. Delighted with our children, their spouses and our five grandchildren. |

My Life Since Senn ...:
I have a degree in painting and printmaking from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and did graduate work at the Art Institute of Chicago. I began my studies in college as an architecture major but after 2 years, I realized I never wanted to build big buildings, I just wanted to make the models and promptly transferred to art school. Thus began my lifelong passion for miniatures. The first few years after college, I exhibited in several galleries and was accepted into a group show of local artists at the Art Institute of Chicago. After retirement, I began studying botanical art and received my Certificate of Merit from the Chicago Botanic Garden in 2007. I also have a miniature business, Little Lodgings, where I have been teaching and selling at shows for the past 25 years. My paintings and miniatures have been exhibited and sold nationally and internationally. I currently live in Glencoe. I have one daughter who is married and lives in the city with her husband, 2 dogs and 4 cats. |

I have two. The philosophical is from Shakespeare: To thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man. The practical is from my boss's dad: Never run on the company's time, Nor crap on your own. |

My Life Since Senn ...: After earning a degree in political science and public administration, I've worked my entire career in the private sector. As VP of PEMCO, a subsidiary of ABC/Disney, I produced and directed trade shows serving industries ranging from public transit to computer systems and several segments of manufacturing. On the way to retirement, I'm a freelance business writer (Forum editing was good training!) focusing on web site content and marketing materials for small and mid-size organizations. David and I have been married for 46 years and particularly love being grandparents. We travel to Maine often to spend time with our daughter and her family. Our son and his family live in the Chicago area so the trip is much shorter and more frequent. Every day we savor life, our wonderful family and good friends. |
