Comment: As my mind and body fade, some memories of high school become stronger. West Side Story, my civics teacher who fell asleep while grading my coursebook, the city orchestra contest, having the leading scorer in the city (basketball) while not winning a single game, Advanced Placement History with Mrs. Miller.

Other memories, not so funny or happy, have been covered over with emotional scabs are not nearly so accessible.

Your Favorite Piece Of Wisdom: "Not everyone who studies geography knows where he is in the world."....... Morris Rosenfeld
My Life Since Senn ...: Survived the University of Chicago, both undergraduate and graduate school, eventually earning a Ph.D. in History. At U of C, I met Mirriam, my wife of 40 years. We have two wonderful boys, both were students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I have been since 1997 developing continuing engineering education courses (long story). Before that, I taught in a post-doc program at Stanford and at the Illinois Institute of Technology. I lived in Paris, doing research, on a couple of occasions. At one time I was nearly fluent. I still have a brother and cousins in Chicago, but we don't get in nearly as much as we would like. Mirriam is a researcher at the UW, and we don't anticipate retiring anytime soon.

My Life Since Senn ...: After Senn I got chemistry degrees at Univ Ill and Univ Michigan. I researched at Johns Hopkins and taught chemistry at Swarthmore College until 1970, when I decided to leave the US for Canada. I never regretted that decision. Currently I am a professor of chemistry and physics, living near Niagara Falls, Ontario. While on sabbatical in California I met my ex-spouse, but we divorced ten years ago after 25 years of marriage. I have a "significant other", Lisa, who is a psychology professor at a major university in Montreal. My daughter is in medical school; son is an engineer. Lisa also has two children. My interests are theatre, classical music, opera and baseball, in addition to reading non-fiction: history, etc. I love working with young people and the challenge and gratification of scientific research. I have no plans to retire anytime soon.

Comment: 60th Reunion update: Colleen and I both retired in 2012. She has pursued the piano and is now very good. I dabbled in woodworking but decided it was too much like working. We read a lot, travel frequently, garden, argue about politics, and remain healthy.. We are very grateful for having been born when and where we did.
