My Life Since Senn ...: After High School I went to the U of I in Champaign/Urbana for a year. I married Ronnie, the college "boy" I started dating in my Junior year at Senn, and we have been blessed with a wonderful life. We have three wonderful children and 8 beautiful grandchildren. They all live around the Chicago area and we are able to enjoy them all. I have worked at the same job for 28 years. It started out as "something to do" and ended up in a career. I have no complaints....good health, a wonderful family and good friends. Who could ask for more?

Your Favorite Piece Of Wisdom: Go for it – Keep tramping on!
My Life Since Senn ...: Following high school, I received my BA degree from Indiana University, followed by graduate work at University of Chicago. Soon after, I married and moved to Berkeley CA where I taught school for five years.

I have two children, a son and a daughter, and then, a divorce from Hell. Needing to earn "serious" money, I drifted into financial services - which I believed had the potential to meet my goals - which it has. I have broken a few "glass ceilings" and have had my own successful Certified Financial Planner business for the past 33 years.

My children, have turned out well despite the chaos of their early years. My daughter now operates her own accounting firm and my son has a successful career in Information Technology. I eventually met and married a wonderful man who, sadly, died after just 15 great years.

At this time, I still work in my own business and regularly spend time with my three grandchildren. In addition, I travel a good deal, spend time at my beach place, and see opera at every opportunity, in many parts of the world.

I have now reached "the age of contentment".

Your Favorite Piece Of Wisdom: Keep it simple and enjoy life each day because it can suddenly get shorter than you thought.
My Life Since Senn ...: From September 1960 to January 1964 I went first to Navy Pier and then to U of I downstate which gave me a BS in elementary education. I taught school for 4 years. During that time I met and married Paul Richter in 1966. The day of the wedding we started driving to NYC where we lived across from Columbia Presbyterian Hospital where he did his neurology residency. I taught 4th grade 2 blocks away. It was a transitioning neighborhood which was interesting and enjoyable both professionally and personally. Very soon the missed monthly body function proved to be our first son Adam now a software designer working for Cisco in San Jose. He has given me 2 gorgeous grandchildren (and 1 is my only female offspring) We always felt blessed by the surprise of his birth.

In 1969 we moved to Brooks Airforce Base to the School of Aerospace Medicine in San Antonio, Tx where Paul fulfilled his 2 year military obligation. 1970 saw the arrival of Dan (now a CPA working for Citibank and living here in NJ) Life on a military base was more than interesting.

In 1971 we moved to Pgh. Pa. where Paul joined a neurology practice. We very much enjoyed the next 28 years there raising our sons and enjoying the culture, community and beautiful cityscape and landscape. While Paul was working I was putting my energies (aside from motherhood) into community work. We made many wonderful friends to whom I am still closely connected. We visit often.

In 1978 when Paul started his own practice, I managed his office for the next 10 years. But eventually I wanted my own thing. I attended Pitt (right down the street from our house) and received my MSW in 1990. I did individual, family and group therapy first for 4 years at WPIC on the eating disorders unit. I left for my own practice and joined 3 psychologists in a lovely collegial environment and office space 4 minutes from my house. I loved the work.

But in 1996 Paul's VERY sudden death changed my life radically. In 1998 I agreed to a date with Bob Kobrin from NJ. I thought it would be good to know some people where my sons lived so that I wouldn't be such a burden to them when I visited. In 1999 Bob and I decided to marry. On most days that seems to have been a good decision. But guess where we moved?

I am a walking city girl but suburban living in Voorhees NJ does have some advantages. Our house is on a lovely lake that is beautifully different each day. I have made lots of good friends in 10 years here. And best of all: I get to see the 3 beautiful boys that Dan & Micki have given us. It's way better than Pittsburgh or Chicago in terms of getting to see them and I take advantage of it often.

Since I have lived in 5 different states I think my hard drive has lost a lot of memories. I am looking forward to reloading and refreshing them with you.

Thanks to the committee for all this hard work for our fun.
