My Life Since Senn ...:
After graduation,I attended Roosevelt University, BA, Education. Married, had two sons, divorced. Remarried, had one son, celebrating 38 years together in June. Taught school briefly in Chicago before beginning a career in non-profit work. Returned to Roosevelt for an MPA. Spent most of my career in public health as Clinic Director at the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago, later as Program Director for Gilda's Club Chicago. My husband Bill and I traveled extensively in Mexico for many years. In 2000 we built a home in the small town of San Francisco, Nayarit (known locally as San Pancho). We live in Mexico half the year, and return to Evanston for the summer. In between, we spend time in California where our three sons live. Our oldest son Larry is married, an Associate Professor of Aviation at Miramar College in San Diego. He and his wife Jolee, an artist, live in Encinitas. Our middle son Steve is a writer, film producer and director in Los Angeles. He is married to Pam and has one daughter, Fiona, who is fourteen. Our youngest son Dan, is single, is a writer (film) and lives in Los Angeles. I work occasionally at the Public Library when we are in Evanston. I love to read and talk about books (I haven't succumbed to a Kindle). I enjoy writing, am a member of the San Pancho Writers (www.sanpanchowriters.blogspot.com) in which we blog about living in Mexico. Living in two cultures has been a life-changing experience. |

My Life Since Senn ...:
Started college at Washington University in St. Louis but transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where I completed my BS, my MBA, and met my husband Bill to whom I have been happily married for nearly forty three years. After completing my MBA, I joined General Foods (now part of Kraft in Chicago), in Market Research. When my two beautiful daughters were small, I worked doing freelance marketing assignments out of my home (no such thing as maternity leave in those days!) and then joined a small market research firm in NYC. I eventually bought that company and built it up into a rather large firm known for strategic research, consumer and business-to-business, which I sold several years ago and have been retired since that time. After many years of hard work and long hours. I am happy to relax, read and enjoy the company of our two amazing little granddaughters. Each of our daughters built wonderful careers of their own, one as an attorney and the other in organizational training. Within the past year each of them was blessed with a baby girl of her own, so Bill and I apparently timed our retirements perfectly. I haven't done as much traveling as I had hoped to by now, preferring usually to collapse and recuperate on a beach somewhere during the years I was working, but perhaps now that will change. I have some involvement in the contemporary art scene here in New York and am on the board of Exit Art, an important not-for-profit multi-discipline cultural center. I will not be able to be at the reunion but I hope you all have a good time. |
