My Life Since Senn ...: I met my wife, Hillary (Holly) Kosbie (Evanston H.S.) while I was an undergraduate at Southern Illinois University. I majored in communications and I have worked for the past 40+ years in sports broadcasting. For many years, I was a radio and television sports anchor and reporter and play-by-play announcer. I am still working at a sports radio station in the Providence, RI and Boston, MA areas in sports marketing and community relations.

We have 3 children; Michelle (38), Mickey (35), and Kelly (33). Michelle lives nearby in Massachusetts, Mickey in Rhode Island and Kelly in Bethlehem, PA. Michelle is married and gave birth to our first grandchild, Caimin Lyons Carney in August of '09.

What an unbelievable feeling!

I still participate in sports, including softball on a 65+ softball team. Thirty years ago, I used to write and produce stories for television about senior athletes. Today I am one of them and I currently serve as the Director and the Games Commissioner for the Ocean State Senior Olympics, a multi sport event for men and women 50 plus. Many of them are amazing individuals that serve as my inspiration.

My Life Since Senn ...: My wife and I have been living in Long Grove for the last 25 years We both enjoy nature and landscaping. We have raised many Labrador Retrievers and our current dogs are Jack and Joe. We also enjoy international travel particularly to France and Italy.

Since leaving Senn I have continued my love of music by playing drums in several community bands in Mount Prospect and Arlington Heights. I also have played in Jazz bands and continued my musical studies at Elmhurst College.

After leaving the University of Illinois in Champaign my career path led me to financial sales. I spent many years as an officer at GE Capital and I am currently Senior Vice President at MB Financial Bank.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the reunion because of a previously scheduled trip to Europe.

It is amazing that in the last 50 years I have only seen a handful of my former Senn classmates. I would appreciate hearing from you in the future. I hope you all have a wonderful reunion.

Your Favorite Piece Of Wisdom: When we have the time we don't have the money and when we have the money we don't have the time.
My Life Since Senn ...: After graduation went to IBM Key punch school-hated it. Married age 20 and spent 9 months with my soldier husband in New Jersey. Divorced after 7 years, remarried and was widowed after 3 years. Met next husband and that lasted almost 12 years. Got sick of tall, dark and rotten men and found a wonderful guy, short, sweet and balding. Married almost 19 years.

Had so many different and interesting jobs but kept moving on to find more challenges. We joke that the only job I haven't had is that of plumber. For the past 19 years have been a calligrapher and artist. My husband and I have been fortunate to travel and take our business with us to various art and craft shows. We currently have the calligraphy shop at the Renaissance Faire for the past 11 years.

My Life Since Senn ...: When I traveled to California after graduation from Lake Forest College, I never expected to move here. Although I often miss Chicago, I still love living in Los Angeles.

I obtained several degrees/credentials after my B.A. and taught elementary school in the Los Angeles Unified School District for many years. I married twice, divorced once--the second marriage (for 30 years now) to a terrific husband, Bill. We have two great children: a son (28, engaged) and I have a stepson (41, married). My husband and sons are all in the computer science fields.

As an AV coordinator/producer (remember filmstrips?) and writer/editor, I've worked for educational publishers, plus wrote and published a book about my late brother Sam. After holding a few local art exhibits and studying design, I had the privilege of working with a team of architects/interior designers during the design phase for the UCLA Hospital. "Multi-careers" (including wife, mom and stepmom) continue now as a substitute teacher (similar to being a retired teacher) and editor for Bill's newsletter.

Congratulations on celebrating this 50th Senn reunion of so many outstanding people! Thanks to all who organized it.

Your Favorite Piece Of Wisdom: Rethink aging and always have a sense of humor!
My Life Since Senn ...: Went to University of Illinois for one year. Came back and went to Cook County School of Medicine to become a Lab Tech. Worked at Bethesda Hospital for 3 yrs. Got married in 1964 and have been married to the same wonderful man for 46 years. We had 2 children, a daughter Suzette (44 years) and our son Ross, who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. We then moved to Florida (Ft. Lauderdale area) 32 years ago to help our son live a better life, out of the cold. He passed away in 1982 at 14 years. My husband, Sherwin, and I became very active in a support group for parents who had children that died, called "Compassionate Friends." We were group leaders for 5 years. I am still active in the Florida Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I have personally raised over $100,000 by running marathons, 1/2 marathons, 10K's and 5K's. I now work part-time in a specialty running store, play tennis, do yoga, run, travel and play with my grandson, Dylan Ross, age 7. Looking forward to the reunion and catching up with old classmates. Thank you to the Senn Committee for putting together a great website and weekend.
