My Life Since Senn ...: Just as the yearbook said, I graduated college(U of I) and became a teacher until I became a full time mother. Went went back to work planning meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Started my own meeting planning/conference coordination company. Aaron and I have five daughters and 12 grandchildren between us....and we travel a great deal - both for business and pleasure. Love the Symphony and fine art - So very blessed to have a wonderful family and good health. This milestone reunion will bring together those who lost touch with one another, with the opportunity to renew old friendships. |

Comment:
I spent 41 years as a psychologist and clinical supervisor (after recieving my doctorate in 1969) in public clinics who served people who were poor and from mlti-generational, multi-problem families. In 1983, I began working with Vietnam Vets who had PTSD. A collegue of mine, also focusing on the phenomena of PTSD, began working with women with PTSD which frequently had it's origins in being terrorized by adults in their family. In the last few years of my work, I spent a significant amount of time and energy evaluating and advocating for people with severe and persistant mental disorders who had been denyed social security disability one to three or four times. Out of thirteen reevaluations I performed, 12 were finally awarded disabiliy. In 2010, 2 days before our 50th reunion, I was hospitalized with cancer, Multiple Myeloma. since that time I have had 5 different treatments which were only effective for a while. I am currently being referred to a FDA approved clinical trials protocol.....MM isn't curable right now but I'll settle for continued control of the disease. All of my treatment has been and will be at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN within the Hematology-Oncology Department. I cannot express how much I feel for my wife, Margaret Mary. She has shared in everything I have gone through these last almost 5 years. The worst of it on my part is losses in executive function, being an unreasonable irksome pain-in- the-ass, very poor balance, loss of visual acuity and chronic pain (8/10). I have 4 compessed vertabrea as a result of the MM. So....I think I may miss this reunion too..... Inspite of all this, my journey also includes standing in and striving to stand in life more fully. I rate the quality of my life as 8/10 where 10 is the best it gets. Have a great reunion! richie |

My Life Since Senn ...:
I went to college for 1 year. I married Jerry Levin in April 1963, then went back to college through the Board of Education where I was working for its president. I received an associate degree. I have two children, Scott born in 1966 and Debra born in 1967. I worked as a bookkeeper and secretary part time for 16 years while my children were in school. Then I worked as an office manager for a metallurgical engineer) and the secretary to an insurance company vice-president for over 16 years until I retired in 2008. I love to bowl, golf and play Maj Jong (I go to many tournaments). I was PTA president for 2 years and B`nai Brith president for 2 years. I am very involved Jewish Women International which was previously BBW. My husband passed away in 1996 and in 2005 I met this wonderful gentleman (Burt Lasky) who is going to become my husband on July 4th, 2010. I have 5 wonderful grandchildren - 4 granddaughters and one grandson who married last year and gave me Cooper a precious great grandson. My life is now complete. Burt and I love to travel - we have gone to Alaska, Hawaii and on many cruises. I have also been to Paris, London and Italy. I feel that at this point in my life I have met my soul mate and my life has now come full circle. |

My Life Since Senn ...:
Attended the University of Michigan, AB '64, and the University of Michigan Law School, JD '67. Married Senn alumn, Jane Reinsberg, my second year in law school and was divorced 26 years later. I subsequently married Carol McErlean in 1993, who never heard of Senn. Carol was a partner at a major law firm but retired after our second child was born. In 1967 with my oldest daughter, Vicki providing a draft exemption, I joined the Chicago law firm of Arnstein, Gluck, Weitzenfeld & Minow. My son, David, wad born in 1969, and my daughter, Betsy, in 1976. I practiced corporate law, corporate finance and securities law when the were only a handful of securities lawyers in Chicago. It was there that I forged a relationship with Sears, Roebuck and Co., becoming their principal outside corporate counsel in my early thirties. In 1981 I left Arnstein--it was rare for lawyers to change firms in those days though it is now commonplace--and founded the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins with some ex-Kirkland and Ellis litigators who had set up their own boutique. Latham was then under 200 lawyers with three California offices and one in DC. Today the firm has over 2500 lawyers, some 40 offices that span the globe and one of the most powerful international brand names in the legal profession, and I'm pleased to have served Latham as its strategic planner for two 4 year terms. Sears followed me to Latham, and I had a relationship with that client for over 30 years, culminating in my leaving Latham at the beginning of 1996 and serving Sears as Senior Vice President and General Counsel until the summer of 1998 when I left and rejoined Latham where I finished my career, retiring at the end of 2007. I note with some considerable satisfaction that 15 or 16 people who worked for me at some point in their careers subsequently went on to become general counsels of a wide array of businesses. Emma was born in 1996 and Maddie in 1998. Several years ago, Carol and I bought out the interests that some of her family members had in a lake property north of Eagle River WI which her grandfather purchased in 1926, and built a lake vacation cottage that Carol had been dreaming of for many years. All five of my kids like to gather there, as do many of our friends like Dale Barnett Ginsburg and David Ginsburg. We also like to travel. Since retiring, our family has gone to the Galapagos, Egypt, Israel and Italy, plus frequent trips to NY to see theater, cabaret, three of my grandchildren and, of course, do some shopping. I traveled the world with my older three children with enormous interest and satisfaction. We're trying to squeeze in as much travel as we can with the two younger kids, though school, their camps and time in WI doesn't leave too much time. Dale Ginsburg talked me into taking alumnae courses at Northwestern which I've been doing with the Ginsburgs fairly regularly the past few years. Finally, there's golf. I took it up when I retired, incentivized by the fact that its the sport of my wife's youth. I got the bug and it is a compelling hobby, the first I ever had other than travel. I'm glad I waited to tackle it until I retired because I would never have had the time while i was still working. |

My Life Since Senn ...:
Married immediately after college and still married to Judy - 50+ years!! Always around \'education\' - High school math teacher, Curriculum consultant in Chicago Public Schools, Director of Educational Product Development @ Encyclopaedia Britannica Educational Corp, College Mathematics professor @ National-Louis University in Chicago, then Dean, Provost, and now President. Following the presidency I have returned to teaching mathematics and mathematics education. Have had my battles with middle age - bought a horse and rode for a while, bought a boat and sailed for a while, etc. Enjoyed them all, but have exchanged them for trying new restaurants, time with grandchildren, napping, and working hard (can\'t comprehend retirement). |
