Your Favorite Piece Of Wisdom: Follow your "gut" when making important personal decisions.
My Life Since Senn ...: I graduated from the University of Illinois. I taught elementary school in Chicago. I saw that a lot of kids were less fortunate than I was. I became a lawyer and spent most of my career representing indigent people.

I did many trials and enjoyed courtroom work. (At one time I thought I'd be an accountant, but did not enjoy doing my own checkbook.)

In 1992 I became a Judge. I love this job because I am constantly learning something new. Although I can retire. I won't until I find something better.

Currently, I'm very interested in resolving disputes through the use of mediation. My focus has been on court related mediation, but I've recently learned about a peer mediation program that exists at Senn High. If any of my Senn classmates want to know more about the peer program at Senn let me know. The organizer of this program might want some help.

My wife and I have been married for over 30 years.

We both enjoy cycling and have ridden all over the U.S., Canada and Europe.

We have one son Alex. He has lived in N.Y. and London. He has performed in musical theatre and is currently interested in performing on radio. However, like a lot of 20 somethings work is not easy to find right now.

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Captionist for Deaf Students; former owner of Medical Transcription Service
Comment: We SO look forward to seeing you again at our reunion. We have many folks who are working very hard to make it successful, but without your attendance, something will be lacking. Thanks to our committee - Elaine, Bobbie, Maddy, Alan, Arde, Larry, Sharon, Arlene and especially our computer maven, Lou Gross - you are the BEST!
Grammar (feeder) School: Goudy
Division Teacher: Miss Maher (until senior year) then Mrs. LaPera (DeAlbani)
No. of Grandchildren: 2 granddaughters, and 2 granddogs
Your Favorite Piece Of Wisdom: "Better to be ready and not asked than to be asked and not ready."
My Life Since Senn ...: After graduating with a BA from Roosevelt and heading toward a Master's in psych, I decided to do something I really wanted - medical transcription - in spite of discouragement from everyone I knew. After a 3-year "internship" at Weiss Hospital, I opened a medical transcription service which served me (and many employees) well for over 45 years, working at home and raising my two wonderful daughters.

I especially loved the training aspect of the business, and taught Medical Transcription at both Harper and Oakton Colleges. After 45 years on the job my kids took over the business and I began a less stressful career as a computer notetaker for deaf and hard of hearing students and closed captionist at Harper, a job which I enjoyed almost as much as organizing our reunions!

Now I'm fortunate enough to continue my note taking remotely - from home - via the Internet, for many colleges and universities.

I'm grateful for my health, for my supportive and loving husband, and for the blessings I've been given in my life.
