Retired in the late 90's and went into the Deli and Bagel Business. Sold the Business met my current wife and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Stayed retired for four months and went back into Construction and Property Management to keep busy.

My Life Since Senn ...:If the truth were told: I didn't graduate from Senn. But I did graduate from high school, only it was Evanston Township High School. I spent my first two years ('56 - '58) at Senn where my true high school memories were formed.

My life has been defined by my adventures. Hours after graduation from Washington U, I boarded a boat to England to study film at The London Film School.
After graduation, I met a group of Australians who needed a tour guide. They made Australia seem very appealing so first by dusty van, and after I left them by scooter, train & boat. I traveled(and worked) for over five years, visiting the Middle East and Asia and bringing home a bride from Japan. Divorced, we're friends now. Our son, Kenji, is the result of the union. Kenji and his wife and my grandchildren live only a few blocks away. Kenji is a video producer.

My feet still itch. My company, KEI Productions(corporate meetings and events), keeps me moving. When not working, I'm always up for a trip. This year, it's Texas and the Bahamas-visiting a friend on his sailboat-Spain and San Jean de Luz in France.

My Life Since Senn ...:After two challenging and not too academically successful years in pre-med at the U of I, I was invited by the draft board to explore a career in the United States Army. Being absolutely certain that every college flunk-out draftee was pre-destined for a stint as an infantryman, I enlisted for three years so I would be guaranteed 36 weeks of training and a career as an electronic cipher equipment repairman. Thirty years later I retired as a Colonel after a career that included tours of duty in such scenic places as Vietnam, Germany and Korea; Pentagon assignments during the Carter, Reagan, Bush and Clinton administrations and the Army sending me back to school - first to the U of I where I graduated with a degree in accounting and passed the CPA exam in ‘73, then later to Syracuse University for an MBA in ’78. In the course of my military career, I served under some fine leaders, got to command great soldiers at every level through ballalion and was fortunate to be chosen for several high level assignments which included Executive to the Comptroller of the Army in ‘84, Comptroller of the Army National Guard in ‘86, the Chief Financial Officer for U.S. military forces in Korea in ’88, and lastly, the head of the organization that designed, orchestrated and implemented the plan for downsizing the Army in ‘92. In 1994 I began my second career as a procurement executive for Sears. A third career as a Supply Chain consultant followed in 2005. Today I claim to be semi-retired, but am happily ensconced in my fourth career, having dusted off my CPA credentials and becoming an Enrolled Agent I teach tax preparation for H&R Block and represent clients before the IRS when the weather is not conducive to golf. Along the way, I was married twice and have a wonderful son, Christopher, who lives outside of Boulder, Colorado.

I think one must have a sense of humor and never ever take oneself too seriously My Life Since Senn ...:I took classes at: Univ. of Iowa, Univ. of Illinois and San Francisco State Univ. Though I accumulated many credit hours, I did not earn a degree. I lived in California for many years before moving to Florida, where I currently reside. I have worked a variety of jobs including home health aide and delivering/monitoring meds for people with long term health issues who lived at home.

I am interested in eastern philosophy and am a "Ju-Bu" or Jewish by birth but practice Buddhism. I love nature and water and practice meditation. I am grateful for my life, I am grateful that I am still alive and I am especially grateful for people I met at Senn who became dear friends, and my family, (especially Cliff) who have loved and supported me. I met people after leaving Senn who also became dear friends and helped make my life better with their love and guiding spirit. Some are departed now and as with all our Senn classmates, that saddens me. We are all part of the same web of life and cosmos. My life has been one of discovery - each day something new.

Though I have led a good life, being introspective, I think about the roads not traveled. One road I would have liked to travel is that taken by Jane Goodall working with the great apes and advocating for conservation of the natural environment. I would have also spent more time on a path of love, compassion, kindness and peace. This is a path travelled by all great teachers I admire - especially Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, Martin Buber, rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel and Auntie Mame.

I do hope that I will see you all at our 60th reunion. I look forward to it with pleasure.

My Life Since Senn ...:After graduation I attended Northern IL. University. After a year I quit and went to beauty school, got engaged and married. We had 2 boys Richard (42) and Dave (40). After 24 years of marriage I got divorced. I helped start a support group for widowed and divorced adults at our church in Inverness, IL.
I remarried 17 years ago to a wonderful man Tom Keane and we are having a great time.We have a total of 6 boys, 4 daughter in laws, and 11 grandchildren. Our summers are spent going from one game to another.
I had a catering business for a couple of years called "Magic Pantry Catering" in the northwest suburbs. When I got divorced I decided a needed a 9 to 5 job and went to work for a packaging company, going from customer service to customer service manager and company trainer. Stayed there for 22 years until my retirement in 2007. since then we spend our winters in Florida and Summers here in IL.

My Life Since Senn ...:I graduated Penn State with a degree in journalism in 1964 and had a five year career at the Anti-Defamation League in New York as a researcher. I married my husband after his first year of medical school in 1966 and happily retired from the ADL as I awaited the birth of our first daughter Amy in 1969. I haven't worked a day for pay since! If I could draw a salary for reading, I'd be quite rich! Our second daughter Dara was born in 1976. Both girls graduated from Indiana University. Amy is a public policy consultant with her own company in Austin, TX, and Dara is an attorney in New Jersey. Our daughters are both happily married and Amy has a little girl Alysa who is six. We have two homes: a condo in Austin and an apartment in New Jersey. In my abundant spare time, I love to play duplicate bridge and cook.. when I'm not reading or blogging. It continues to be a wonderful life.
