CA retired Widowed 2 Stone Miss Maher (3 years), Ms. DeAlbani (1 semester) Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain. I've had the best of all worlds. After college I married a wonderful man, had the typical 2.4 children (my son is tall so he counts for the extra .4) and moved to California. I planned on being a stay-at-home mom, but it turned out that that wasn't for me. It soon became clear that it was cheaper to go back to work than to pay a psychiatrist which I would have needed if I hadn't gone back to work.

I've worked in several industries usually winding up as an office manager - but always in numbers related fields. Sounds boring, huh? So, after my husband passed away I retired from THAT and opened a flight school which wound up doing everything related to general aviation. A little more exciting, right?

About a year ago I finally retired (for real this time) and now I seem to have less free time than I did when I was working.

KS 2 5 After I left Senn, I went to U of I in Champaign, was a PiKA, and graduated in three years as a special education/vocational education teacher. I passed the Chicago Certification Exam, the first time I took it, and worked at Marshall High School as an assigned teacher teaching shop and special education. I left Chicago in 1972 to work on a doctorate in vocational programming for exceptional youth and adults at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Ks. I earned my doctorate in this area from the University of Kansas Special Education Department. I taught in the department for awhile but got tired of the political correctness and went back to work in the Public Schools in Kansas City, Kansas at J.C. Harmon High School as the print shop teacher. I retired in 2005 from teaching.

I am still a ham radio operator and have been for 58 years. I am the state MARS director for Air Force MARS in State of Kansas. I am net control on six transcontinental MARS nets (which serve Army, Navy/Marine Corps, and Air Force) and net control on three Region VII Air Force MARS nets.

I am still a competitive target shooter and belong to the Mill Creek Rifle Club. I compete in the high power center fire service rifle matches which are 500 yd matches.

I collect military vehicles and belong to the Military Vehicle Preservation Association of America. I own four trucks. Two of the trucks are little ones - 3/4 ton and 1 1/4 ton. Two of the trucks are big ones - 2 1/2 tons. We drive the trucks in parades and put on static displays to remind people that if it wasn't for the military we wouldn't have the freedoms that we have.

I have two grown sons - one lives in Wichita, Ks and the other lives in Doylestown, Pa. I have five grandchildren the oldest of whom is a first year medical student at Loyola University Medical School in Chicago. My older son is a partner in a Wichita, KS law firm. My younger son is a senior director of Merck Pharmaceuticals.

I live in Lawrence, Ks which is 40 miles West of Kansas City and have lived here for 38 years.

retired Married 3 Stone Forsland 7 Think before you speak and commit. Life is in the details - little things really do mean a lot! My husband and I lived in Arizona for a few years when he was pursuing his graduate degree. We moved back to Chicago and then to Highland Park where we raised our family. My career began when I started the Headstart program for Hull House in Chicago I went back to work at the JCC on Touhy and then began my career as executive director of Temple Jeremiah in Northfield. During my 28 years there I served 2 terms as President of the National Association of Temple Administrators. One of the highlights was being invited to teach temple administration in Russia.
My husband Michael and I  recently celebrated our 46th anniversary.  We have seven grandchildren.  I retired as executive director of Temple Jeremiah where I worked for the past 28 years.  We are looking forward to future travels and spending more time in our home in New Buffalo Michigan and visiting family in Arizona. WI Retired Architect Married Helen C. Pierce Biology teacher - Mrs Hubbard? Enjoy each day! I graduated from U of I in 1966 with a B Fine Arts in Architecture. A year later I married Jim, a fellow Architect. I have enjoyed a challenging and successful 36 year career in an industry then dominate by men. The first 20 years in a small partnership managing construction of major Chicago buildings. The next 16 years as the sole Architect in a Worldwide Corporate Company with responsibilities of hiring (and firing) architects, contractors and interior designers and managing the build-outs of over 2 million square feet of office space. Now I live and paint in a place which Jim and I have enjoyed since 1966, scenic Washington Island, Door County. I particularly enjoy the new and rewarding freedom which painting permits - minimal details and the absence of codes and standards and teams of clients, consultants and contractors. I have also become an avid Birder. Experiencing the beauty and peace of nature, on our walks and in our RV travels, continues to lift our spirits and provides plenty of new adventures.
