CA Software Quality Assurance Analyst Married 2 Boone Bartuska 1 Give your children roots and wings. My husband Ken Solovy and I met at the U of I and married shortly after my graduation from Northwestern (BA Biology). I worked as an Assistant Biologist at IITRI testing drugs in a primary drug screen for anti-malarial activity. After Ken finished grad school, we moved to Vestal, NY (a small city about 75 miles south of Syracuse) where our children were born. I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom. When the kids went to school, I took a programming class at SUNY Binghamton. In 1980 we moved cross-country and have since lived in beautiful Thousand Oaks, CA. I was accepted into a training program and became a Software Quality Assurance Analyst, and have worked at a number of companies in that capacity. Now I am mostly retired. My husband changed careers from Photographic Scientist to High School Chemistry teacher and is now retired. Our son Rob is a computer programmer in LA. Our daughter JoAnne teaches 1st grade; she and her hubby Adya live nearby. Our delightful and precocious granddaughter, Emma, whom we cherish and spoil, will be 3 in May. She will become a big sister in September. For fun I enjoy mah jongg and sudoko, and mostly getting together with family and friends.

CA Real Estate Investor/Actuary Married Boone Lucille Hubbard Don't just accept things as they are. Try your best to make them what you want them to be. My life since high school: U of I undergrad, graduate school Northeastern U in Boston in Actuarial Science. Began actuarial exams in 1968. Became a Consulting Actuary in 1972. Married an Irish Catholic girl in 1975 who, like me, didn't want to have kids. Finished actuarial exams in 1976.

After the winters of 1977-1980, moved to San Francisco in 1981 where I joined an actuarial consulting firm. Started investing in real estate in 1982. Joined my wife as a full time real estate investor in 1984. Survived, sometimes barely, several booms and busts over the years before finally settling into the mobilehome park market.

Still standing, still married, no kids. It's been a wild ride, but a mostly rewarding one, and I am still looking forward to an exciting future.

P.S. Since 1986 have been signed up to be Cryonically Suspended upon my "death". Hopefully I can convince enough of my classmates to do the same so we may possibly get together to celebrate our 500th Year Class Reunion in 2460!!

IL Marketing Consultant Married 2 Boone Ms. Forsland Treat each day as if it were your last because some day you’ll be right. I graduated Roosevelt University with a degree in Political Science and went on to graduate courses. While at Roosevelt I met my future husband, Steve Pernick and we married after graduation. We moved to Wilmette to raise our sons and have lived in the area ever since, trading our home five years ago for a condo on the lake. Our oldest son, Kevin, lives in LA and is a manager with the IRS. Our youngest, Kelly, is in Chicago and works for the accounting firm KPMG. Neither are married so no grandchildren.

In 1982, I became a pioneer in a new media, telesales, and opened an agency that employed 235 people. After selling out to my partners in 1990, I continue working as a marketing consultant to Fortune 100 companies and serve on many professional and charitable Boards.

Steve, a criminal defense attorney, and I maintain a very active business and social schedule. We still work full time; enjoy travel, theatre, and getting together with friends from across the country.

We’ve been blessed with a wonderful family, much success in our chosen fields and a positive outlook on life. Looking forward to seeing you all and catching up on the last 50 years.

IL Educator www.whereaboutsinc.com Married 2 Boone Mr Jacobson 5 Life is not a dress rehearsal. I graduated college with a degree in education and married Alan Unikel a week after graduation. We have two wonderful children. We divorced after 23 years and I married John Pacay and his 2 children several years later. We have been married for 20 years and have 5 grandchildren.

After spending a number of years as a stay-at-home mom,I returned to the classroom as a 5th grade teacher. Several years later, I went on to graduate school to get my Master's Degree and subsequently my Doctorate in school administration. I became a middle school assistant principal and then spent 8 years as a principal in Glencoe, IL. I left Glencoe to become an Assistant Superintendent in Northbrook, IL. When an early retirement incentive was offered by the state - I took it and retired at age 50. After 'retiring', I worked as a professor and program director at National Louis University and then went on to become the Vice-President of Education at Chicago Children's Museum at Navy Pier. After 'retiring', yet again, (I loved the retirement parties) from the Museum, I started my own business, providing geography based programs and products to schools, museums, etc. I sold the company last year. I currently work as a coach/mentor to new school administrators.

I love this stage of life and am blessed with an amazing husband, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, family, and friends. I just don't know where the years have gone!
Reconnecting with people who helped shape my life is such a gift.  I feel so fortunate to have grown up when and where I did. Send Barbara a MessageSend Barbara a Message

IL Piano teacher Married 3 Boone Emanuel Jacobson 7 (1 boy and 6 girls) We go through life constantly surrounded by opportunities--cleverly disguised as problems. I attended the U of I in Urbana, earning a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Ed. (Plan B) in 1963, married three days after graduation (too young) and taught first and second grades at Ravenswood School in Chicago for three years. Then retired to become a full-time mom to three great kids--Greg (1966)-now a violinist with the Highland Park Strings and in business with his brother Rick (1970). Together they own and run a large national staffing and search organization. Jackie (1968) is now a very special Special Ed teacher at Ravinia School in HP, where she and her brothers attended school as children. The boys live in HP and Jackie lives in Vernon Hills.
The kids were growing up, my former husband and I divorced, and I went back to school, earning a Master's degree in Piano Pedagogy (back to Plan A--music--should have done it in the first place). On the way, I met and married Allen Anderson, a concert pianist and Professor of Piano and related subjects at Northeastern Illinois University--now Professor Emeritus and teaching part-time as a visiting lecturer. We've been married for 26 years and this time I got it wonderfully right! I've been teaching piano for 30 years, (studio in our Glencoe home for the past nine years). We both love teaching and making music and for now have no desire to retire. We're so fortunate to have each other, and to have our children and grandchildren all living so close to us. We are active in our synagogue and enjoy traveling, attending theater, opera and concerts, bicycling, and seeing friends. I am very grateful for every precious day and try to make the most of each one.
I can't believe that 50 years seem to have passed in the blink of an eye!  I'm so impressed with the interesting lives you all are living and am hoping to see all of my old friends at this reunion.
