WI Educator Married 2 Coorlas "Not everyone who studies geography knows where he is in the world."....... Morris Rosenfeld Survived the University of Chicago, both undergraduate and graduate school, eventually earning a Ph.D. in History. At U of C, I met Mirriam, my wife of 40 years. We have two wonderful boys, both were students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I have been since 1997 developing continuing engineering education courses (long story). Before that, I taught in a post-doc program at Stanford and at the Illinois Institute of Technology. I lived in Paris, doing research, on a couple of occasions. At one time I was nearly fluent. I still have a brother and cousins in Chicago, but we don't get in nearly as much as we would like. Mirriam is a researcher at the UW, and we don't anticipate retiring anytime soon.
As my mind and body fade, some memories of high school become stronger. West Side Story, my civics teacher who fell asleep while grading my coursebook, the city orchestra contest, having the leading scorer in the city (basketball) while not winning a single game, Advanced Placement History with Mrs. Miller.

Other memories, not so funny or happy, have been covered over with emotional scabs are not nearly so accessible.

IL Retired Married 3 Stone Mrs. Collins 1 Actually, its my mom's (she just celebrated her 97th birthday) and it has something to do with "clean underwear." Didn't your mothers tell you that too? After graduation,I attended Roosevelt University, BA, Education. Married, had two sons, divorced. Remarried, had one son, celebrating 38 years together in June. Taught school briefly in Chicago before beginning a career in non-profit work. Returned to Roosevelt for an MPA. Spent most of my career in public health as Clinic Director at the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago, later as Program Director for Gilda's Club Chicago.

My husband Bill and I traveled extensively in Mexico for many years. In 2000 we built a home in the small town of San Francisco, Nayarit (known locally as San Pancho). We live in Mexico half the year, and return to Evanston for the summer. In between, we spend time in California where our three sons live.

Our oldest son Larry is married, an Associate Professor of Aviation at Miramar College in San Diego. He and his wife Jolee, an artist, live in Encinitas.

Our middle son Steve is a writer, film producer and director in Los Angeles. He is married to Pam and has one daughter, Fiona, who is fourteen.

Our youngest son Dan, is single, is a writer (film) and lives in Los Angeles.

I work occasionally at the Public Library when we are in Evanston. I love to read and talk about books (I haven't succumbed to a Kindle). I enjoy writing, am a member of the San Pancho Writers (www.sanpanchowriters.blogspot.com)
in which we blog about living in Mexico.

Living in two cultures has been a life-changing experience.
Fifty years! It doesn't seem possible. I am looking forward to seeing everyone and sharing our lives. Send Gail a MessageSend Gail a Message

IL Real Estate Agent/ retired Married 2 Monroe Garo Life is not about how many breaths, but about how many moments take your breath away. I have returned to my roots, we are living in Chicago again, after 41 years. And...you can come home. Looking forward to reconnecting!!! I attended University of Illinois at Champaign and Navy Pier, then graduated from Roosevelt University, Feb 1965, in Accounting and Education. I married Barry Chapnick in 1965. I taught high school for 2 years, and then was a public accountant until our son, Michael was born, 1969. In 1970 we moved to Iowa City for a post doc, then in 1973 on to Tulane University where Barry was a professor. I thought I could have a part time job..in real estate. Dana was born in 1976. Real estate, friends, and family were time consuming, and lots of visitors. In 1980 we moved to St Louis, Barry as a professor at St Louis University. I continued as a real estate agent, moving to RE/MAX in 1986, first as an owner, then back to residential real estate sales, which is what I love.

In 1985-1986, Barry had the opportunity to go to Paris for a sabbatical. It became my sabbatical too, I as the travel agent and coordinator; we visited 10 countries and toured all of France, and I tried to see all of the 100 museums in Paris. Our son, daughter-in-law and daughter gained the ability to think of the world as their home, and have lived again in France, Spain, Belgium, Burundi, Gabon, Japan, and Singapore. We have subsequently visited them in these places and to various other countries, often ending each in Paris. We just completed a trip to avoid winter, first in San Diego to celebrate our daughter receiving her J.D., then to Australia and New Zealand.

I love travel, reading, art and architecture, and being with family and friends. I look forward to reconnecting with you via email and/or at the reunion!

We have moved back to Chicago. Please note, new address and phone numbers.  Send Judi a MessageSend Judi a Message

IL Israel Tour Operator www.israeldiscoverytours.com Married 2 Boone Mrs. Ziegler 3 Faith and enthusiasm makes life worth living. Graduated Roosevelt University with a B.A. in primary education. In January 1964 married Gil Wallerstein, a 1960 graduate of Evanston High School. Taught in the Chicago Public Schools for two years. Our daughter Marla was born in 1966 and son David in 1969. From 1980 until 1988 I enjoyed teaching primary grades, secular studies at the Arie Crowne Hebrew Day School.

Life changed direction after celebrating the bat and bar mitzvah of our children in Israel. My love of Israel led me to become a businesswoman. In 1990 I founded Israel Discovery Tours specializing in family tours to Israel. Within a short time we became the largest bar-bat mitzvah tour from North America and later added departures just for adults. My company has received many honors from the Israeli government and Ministry of Tourism for excellence in service, innovation and support of Israel. I continue to work full time, however, in the winter I am fortunate to be based at my home in Boynton Beach, FL. Over the years, I have reconnected with many of you who have traveled with us. It is always fun to get a call from a fellow Senn alumni.

Our daughter graduated Washington University (St. Louis) BFA and received a MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Marla is a metalsmith jewelry designer. Our son received his BA from Brandeis University. In addition to managing my tour company, David is an entrepreneur - founder and partner in two other businesses. Our children live in the Chicago area and we are blessed with three fun, good hearted grandsons -Jonah (12) Gabriel (10) Ari (8).

Gil and I travel frequently and in recent years our lives have been enriched by vacationing
with our grandsons.

A deep commitment to Israel, and my amazing Israeli staff and friends, will keep me working for the foreseeable future. I am blessed and grateful for a meaningful and fulfilling career and a loving family.

Sorry I will be unable to enjoy the reunion - I will be in Israel. Thanks to the committee and warmest regards to my classmates.
