Paula died in August 2025 at the age of 82.  She was married to Alan Katz until his passing.  They have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.  Paula received a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin, and an MA from Northeastern Illinois University.  She taught high school English at Waller High School and Ida Crown Jewish Academy. She also worked for many years in the Academic Achievement Center at Niles North High School. 

Paula enjoyed opera and theatre. She and her husband traveled frequently; their destinations included Europe, Africa, the middle east, and the orient.
